What is Amber?

Amber has always been interesting to me because it is so much different than the other minerals.  Amber is a tree resin rather than a rock.  You can often find bugs, plant parts, minerals, and other things preserved within.  Some Amber is millions of years old.

Collecting Amber in Central Europe

Having spent most of my time in Central Europe over the past 2 years, one of the greatest treats was having access to Baltic Amber of Lithuania and Poland. Baltic amber is prized for its beauty, authenticity, and ancient age boasting millions of years of history.  It is very different from Copal amber, which is a recent resin that has not yet been fossilized and hardened like the highly valued Baltic counterpart.

I've acquired so many genuine necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and specimens.  Most of them sell quite fast.  I'm fortunate to have direct and reliable Baltic sources to avoid the fake stuff that floods the market.  It may be awhile before I get to hand select some more European Amber, but what is available can be found in the Satin Crystals Amber Collection. 

I personally have a semi-clear honey toned amber chip bracelet that I like to wear, which I got from the wine festival in Zielona Gora, Poland a couple years back.

Metaphysical Properties of Amber

Energetically, it helps you connect with nature, trees, animals, and the evolution of the planet.  This crystal provides decisiveness and clarity. It enhance memory and intellect. Amber activates the third solar plexus chakra, stabilizing emotions.

Hi Wendy, thanks for writing in. I think you are searching for the correct term. It’s a yellow Baltic Butterscotch Amber. We do not have any Amber rings at the moment, but you could try etsy.com!
