Hi Barbara, Yes, in crystal healing, Citrine is considered the yellow version of Quartz. It will always be heated, whether naturally or by man. Once the stone turns to a Citrine, it doesn’t matter how it got there. You can use it just as effectively for its Citrine properties.

If it’s not real citrine. Will it have the same properties as a real citrine

All of the Citrine we currently have in our https://satincrystals.com/collections/citrine collection is real, but heated.

As you will discover, “About 99% of the Citrine you will find on the market today is heat-treated Amethysts or Smoky Quartz, both of which turn yellow at high temperatures”. You can read more about Citrine in the Citrine Article: https://satincrystals.com/pages/citrine-article

If you do come across Citrine that is not heated by man, then the price should match accordingly. It will be much higher than 99% of the prices you see for other Citrine.
