How exactly do you spot real vs fake Meteorites?

The answer is simple for most of us. Find a reputable source that you trust, like Satin Crystals, and happily peruse their Meteorite Collection until you find the pieces you love.

The Tektites can be in water without harm, but I would keep meteorites out of water. Depending on the Iron content they could rust.

Sincerely,

Hello Sheila,

Thank you for getting my back to me.

Can the trio be exposed to water? I’m keen on making a wearable piece but I typically use elements and stones that can be exposed to water.

And because of Libyan Desert Glass’s composition, is it water safe?

Thank you!

Sheila Satin - July 18, 2022

Hi Rochelle, yes, Moldavite is the most popular these days and Libyan Desert Glass is the second!

You may also want to consider Black Tektite with two rare meteorites: https://satincrystals.com/products/meteorite-galactic-space-rock-set-black-tektite-chelyabinsk-agoudal

I am interested in meteorites and tektites.

Which piece would be recommended as the most impactful piece in a collection? Popularity would say moldavite but other recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Good Evening,

What current stock do you have in genuine Moldavite? I am interested in photos and weight in grams. Thanks!

Hi Thor,

The mail has been really bad these days because of holiday delay plus covid. I hope it arrived soon and I will look at the tracking tomorrow.

The way to do meteorite test is by sending it to a special scientific meteorite lab for testing. Unfortunately I think those types of places may not be open right now.

If you send me a photo of what you have, I could possibly get an idea. Also if you know the source, such as who you got it from or where it is from etc. Let me know.

Thanks,
Lisa

Hello, the meteorite rocks i bought from you have not yet arrived here. So i definatley will need to clean them when they arrive.

I have a question. Is it possible for me to send you 3 meteorite rocks for verificaton?
If they are all real, you can take 1 and send 2 back to me. Knowing they are real and what they are.

Is that possible?

Thank you Thor
