For the last decade or so, whenever I go traveling with a group of family or friends, I have been creating a special piece of jewelry to commemorate the occasion. The Malachite Emerald Isle necklace was created when I traveled to Ireland for my mother-in-law’s first trip out of the country on her 70th birthday.
Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle because of its lush green hills. Malachite reminded me of this lush green scenery with its beautiful bold colors and wavering patterns. And so, that Malachite Emerald Isle necklace was born and worn throughout our journeys in Ireland.
Malachite is a prized gemstone mostly found in Africa. It has lush green bands and unique patterns. Also, each Malachite stone will be unique in its cut.
In the Emerald Isle necklace, the Malachite stone has been polished into a round bead and carved into an intricate design. The bead has then been wrapped in wire and hung from an ornate, antiqued brass bail.
Finally, The Malachite Emerald Isle pendant strung on a thick, antiqued copper snake chain necklace.
A fun surprise about this thick snake chain necklace is that one end is removable, so you can actually switch out or add on to the necklace at your whim! When traveling we always want to take the minimal amount of jewelry, yet make the biggest impact. With this necklace, you can switch out the pendants and have a new small charm displayed every day.
If you don't want to change it out, you can sport your Malachite Emerald Isle pendant on the necklace chain throughout your travels. It is very lightweight and can be tucked under your shirt during inclement weather or if greeting a curious baby.
For those who would like to activate the crystal healing energies of Malachite during your travels, you can program this natural stone to align with your desired manifestations. Some popular healing energies that people use Malachite for include:
While wearing the Emerald Isle necklace, here are some of the highlighted adventures we had on our trip to Ireland for my mother-in-law‘s birthday. Perhaps you will be so inspired on your next trip to the green country:
Once we were back from our trip, I was inspired to create the Emerald Isle necklace for the Satin Crystals boutique. My own mother also fell in love with the necklace and started to wear it for her leisure and travels. She loves wearing more delicate jewelry so this chain necklace was perfect for her comfort level.
You can now find the Malachite Emerald Isle necklace at the Satin Crystals Boutique, available in different lengths. You might want something very short so you can show the pendant off at your neck or very long so that it dangles down towards your solar plexus chakra. Of course, the largest statement would be to layer up the different necklace lengths and really be transported to a magical land of the mythical leprechaun and mossy forests of fairies!
If you need a certain length created for you or we are out of stock, just let me know and I will get working on your green creation!
It's been over a year since our memorable trip to Ireland and the creation of the Malachite necklace. I come to you again with good news!
Since people kept asking about matching earrings, we now have Malachite Emerald Isle earrings available as well. Wear them together with your necklace or on its own as a statement look.
Transport yourself to a time of magic, fairies, legends, and lore. Sláinte!
