Can you benefit from Angelite crystals?

You may benefit from Angelite crystals if you can relate to any of the following:

  • You would like a calming crystal in your life

  • You are attracted to the color blue

  • You need to open your Throat chakra

  • You believe in the Angelic realm

  • You want to enhance your meditation

  • You need more patience and compassion

What is Angelite?

Angelite is the trade name for baby blue Anhydrite. If you are searching for Angelite in a mineral book, look for it under Anhydrite.

Anhydrite is a common mineral that looks chalky and is often too brittle to keep its shape once it hits the moisture above the Earth. It forms in masses or fibers with other minerals (like Halite, Calcite, Gypsum, and Sylvine) when lakes or saltwater lagoons dry up and the salt crystallizes. It also forms when Gypsum is evaporated.

Because most of the mineral is too soft or unattractive for the gem industry, Anhydrite has been used as a mineral in the chemical industry for many years to make sulfuric acid, fertilizers, and insecticides.

And then in 1987, Angelite was discovered. When polished, the blue version of Anhydrite will reveal Angelite. Angelite emerges to show a heavenly blue surface.

Lisa's personal experience with Angelite

With a name like Angelite, what's NOT to love about Angelite?

Angelite is the best stone to help us connect with our guardian angels and the realm of archangels.

When I used to lead group meditations, Angelite was a hit. We would have beautiful visions of celestial beings. With Angelite, we could channel sacred messages and words of wisdom. I recommend holding an Angelite ball or egg to transmit the healing energy of angels to your hands and body.

Another reason I like Angelite is that it corresponds with the Throat chakra, an energy center I am constantly tending to. It's not easy to find light blue crystals that are natural, but Angelite does the job divinely.

Sheila's Personal Experience with Angelite

I have used an Angelite massage wand for a long time now. I keep it at my bedside and whenever I feel stressed, needing to relieve muscle tension, I will press it into the tension knots.

I have a collection of different crystal massage wands and I find myself picking up the Angelite when I want to feel calm and get into a more spiritual state, whereas I’ll pick up the Obsidian massage wand when I want to feel more grounded and remove negativity.

In jewelry-making, I like contrasting the soft blue tones of Angelite with dark colors like deep blue Lapis, black Rainbow Obsidian, metallic Pyrite stones, and gunmetal metals. Something about this juxtaposition of hues gives me a sense of balance and justice in the world.

What is the spiritual meaning of Angelite?

In the metaphysical world, Angelite stones are all about connecting with the spiritual realms and soothing your physical energies. Here are a few crystal healing properties associated with Angelite:

  • Angelite helps you to connect with your spirit guides, higher self, animal guardians, and the angelic realm.

  • Angelite clears the path for channeling, sweeping away mental blocks and chatter.

  • Angelite helps you calmly through new beginnings.

  • Angelite is a key calming crystal, soothing your energies for a peaceful presence.

  • Angelite helps to increase patience, compassion, and acceptance by calming your mind.

  • Angelite helps to heal your Crown, Third Eye, and Throat chakras.

  • Angelite eases you into astral travels.

Here are some ideas on how you can use your Angelite stones for both energy healing and practical matters:

  • Use an Angelite massage wand to calm the nerves and relieve stress. Press it into tense areas for acupressure stress relief.

  • Use Angelite eggs to correct imbalances in the auric field.

  • Hold an Angelite sphere for meditation

  • Place Angelite stones in your bedroom for a soothing energy. Place them under your pillow for a sound sleep.

  • Gift Angelite jewelry to a beloved friend.

  • Stack Angelite bracelets on your wrist when you are going into a chaotic situation.

  • Use Angelite tumbled stones as worry stones to relieve stress and anxiety.

  • Have your partner carry a similar piece of Angelite to connect yourselves telepathically. It's especially effective when you both program the crystal for the same purpose.

Top 3 Favorite Angelite Stones

We found that people are attracted to Angelite for its unique name that is indicative of its powers. The rare color makes Angelite even more alluring. Our clients' top three favorite Angelite healing stones are Angelite eggs, Angelite wands, and Angelite balls.

What chakra is Angelite for?

Angelite is highly focused on the Throat chakra. Its genuine blue colors vibrate with this communication center right at the throat. However, it can also be used at the Third Eye chakra for intuition, meditation, and patience. At the Crown chakra, it helps to make that strong connection with the metaphysical world.

Some people swear by Angelite in opening their Soul Star chakra, which lies a few inches above the Crown. This is beneficial for those people who are going up real high in advanced spiritual work.

Magical Angelite Incantation

This is a message from Angelite from Doreen Virtue and Judith Lukomski's book "Crystal Therapy":

"Dearest ones, know me as the voice of Heaven. Upon my vibration, prayers are carried unto the angels, where there's only love, completeness and peace. I stand with you as a guardian of hoe, a messenger of light, a teacher, and a friend. Support surrounds you, and there's no separation other than that which you choose to experience. If you're feeling a sense of lack, look within to see what belief can be brought forward for review and realignment. Quiet yourself in meditation with me so that you can receive blessings of wisdom. Angels whisper softly...will you listen? Or will you wait to feel what cannot be ignored?"

What does Angelite mean in divination?

Drawing Angelite in a gemstone divination session means: It is time to look up.

Use your Angelite stones to lift you from the monotony and irrelevant problems of earth. Let it expand your consciousness and let it help you find a larger home among the Universe and the Angels.

Is Angelite good for sleep?

Because of its calming energy, Angelite is considered one of the sleep stones. This is not a stone to be placed under the pillow, so place it by your bedside or under the bed.

Consider displaying your Angelite stones on stands in your bedroom, hanging your Angelite jewelry above your bed, or gridding Angelite crystals in the corners of your room.

Can you wear Angelite jewelry every day?

If your Angelite has been stabilized, it can be worn every day. In its natural form, you will find that Angelite may have a lot of crumbling. The stone is often stabilized and waxed to make it durable for jewelry.

Many people are attracted to the glacier blue color of Angelite, but because it is a softer stone, it is not readily available in jewelry. We offer Angelite in beaded earrings, necklaces, and bracelets in the Angelite Jewelry Collection

Can Angelite stone be carved?

What makes Angelite delicate for jewelry, is what makes it easy to carve into figurines. You will find Angelite carved into animals and deities and polished into balls, eggs, wands, and hearts. Again, these are often waxed to give the finished stones a nice luster.

You will often find natural white pits and inclusions within Angelite. This white powdery inclusion is either remnant of the rocky nodule within which the blue stone forms or the Angelite hydrating back to a white Selenite Gypsum.

What does Angelite look like?

Angelite is a powder or baby blue stone with chalky white inclusions. You may also find rusty brownish-red inclusions in your Angelite, which could be spots of Iron or Hematite minerals.

What are the best sellers in Angelite jewelry?

Angelite is fun to wear because the color draws in curious minds and is a conversation starter. Another benefit of wearing Angelite is that it keeps your guardian angels in your aura all day.

How do you clean Angelite?

The most popular question we get when it comes to cleaning Angelite is: Can Angelite be put in water? You don't want to mix water into the equation if you want your Angelite to stay Angelite! A little water here or there won't hurt if the Angelite is polished smooth, but in general, keep it out of liquid situations. Stick with a soft cloth for cleaning this delicate stone.

As mentioned before, Angelite is a very soft stone. Plus, it's dehydrated Gypsum, ready to absorb water and turn back to its previous incarnation.

Can Angelite go in salt? While saltwater is a definite recipe for disaster for your Angelite, dry salt is also not recommended. The salt crystals can scratch the surface of your polished Angelite. If you have rough Angelite or you are not concerned with the aesthetics, dry salt would be okay for this stone.

How is Angelite formed?

Anhydrite is a form of Gypsum that has lost its water content and crystallized. Angelite Anhydrite comes from chalky coated nodules. It is slightly hygroscopic, meaning it readily absorbs moisture, so don’t leave it in water!

You will find Anhydrite in drying agents in plasters, cement, paint, and varnishes. It is even made to use the chalk found in classrooms and sidewalk drawings.

Anhydrite gets its name from a Greek term to mean without water. This stone is dehydrated and will quickly drink up water. It will turn back into Gypsum in humidity. To continue the cycle, Gypsum can also turn back into Anhydrite through heating to evaporate the water content.

Where is Angelite found?

You will find Angelite in Mexico, Peru, Germany, Poland, Libya, and New Mexico.

Anhydrite is found all over the world as it is a common mineral, but the beautiful blue version that can be polished into Angelite is not so common.

Angelite was discovered by modern man in the late 1980's in Peru, so it is a relatively recent gemstone on the market. You will find Angelite is popularly mined in Peru.

Is Angelite the same as Celestite?

No! Despite what you may see all over the internet and in some crystal healing books, Angelite is not a form of Celestite. Angelite is a form of Anhydrite, which is a sulfate of Calcium. Celestite is a sulfate of Strontium, so there is no way compression of Celestite can change its form into Calcium.

Somewhere along the line, Celestite may have been confused with Selenite. Celestite and Selenite crystals are often found together. Selenite is a form of Gypsum, also a sulfate of Calcium like Anhydrite.

Gypsum Selenite can compress into Angelite Anhydrite as it loses its water content. Gypsum consists of calcium, sulfur, and water while Anhydrite consists of calcium, sulfur, and oxygen. Gypsum is the hydrated version of Anhydrite.
