For many centuries, pendulums were used in grandfather clocks to tell the time and in metronomes to provide a regular beat for musicians.
In energy healing, pendulums have been used as tools to access the subconscious mind or Higher Self. They guide the healer in gaining answers to everyday questions through divination.
How do you use a pendulum for healing?
In crystal healing, you can use a pendulum to dowse answers, determine chakra energy flow, enter a hypnotic state, and make decisions. We will go over these techniques below.
Before you begin healing work, cleanse, charge, and program your pendulum to align with your intentions. It is also advisable to relax your body and mind with meditation, yoga, or breathing exercises before you start.

Pendulums can be used as divination tools for dowsing to gain answers. The pendulum moves on the principle that it is reading your subconscious mind. Your subconscious has all the answers but your conscious cannot always read these answers. Crystals help to discern these answers.

Besides answering yes and no questions, pendulum dowsing can also lead to lost objects or found treasures. The theory behind this type of dowsing is that the item you seek has a particular energy. How do you check your chakras with a pendulum?

To determine if a person's chakras are open or blocked, here are the steps to take with your pendulum:
1. Hold the pendulum by the tip of the chain between your thumb and forefinger of your receiving hand (left for right-handed; right for left-handed)
2. Relax, and be comfortable.
3. Let the pendulum rotate over the client’s chakras.
